UIDAI permits the users of Aadhaar cardsto change their address without requiring any documents. Aadhaar card holders were able to alter their address in the event that they have not provided documents proving their identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped a crucial feature which allows you to alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address, without documentary proof of address.

UIDAI permits those who have Aadhaar cards to change their address without any proof of identity. Aadhaar card holders can alter their address, provided they are willing to accept the authentication and verification process of an address verifier. A verifier of address could be a family member, friend landlord, family member or even a friend who will allow the Aadhaar card holder to utilize their address as proof.

UIDAI has now halted this feature. UIDAI replied to an Aadhaar Card owner by tweeting that the capability to update address on Aadhaar Card by submitting an Address Validation Letter is no longer available. UIDAI has requested Aadhaar issuers to remind the Aadhaar issuer to remind the user that they can update their address with another acceptable PoA document.

Dear Resident Dear Resident: The addresses Validation Letter service has been discontinued until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
